It is always a pleasure to highlight the high quality work of our staff and the time has come around again to unveil our prestigious Carer of the Quarter winner – so step up and take a bow Sally Edwards (pictured receiving the award from our Assistant Care Manager, Liz Hughes, above).
We are delighted to make the award to Sally and she follows a long line of previous winners who have all demonstrated their commitment and enthusiasm in striving to bring the best possible service to our customers.
It is also important to recognise the efforts of two other carers, Jade Till and Nicola Hilliard, who earn special mentions in this quarter’s award.
Sally has been with us for some time and has quickly become a person we can depend upon. Nothing is too much trouble for her in caring for her customers and she has always gone above and beyond what is expected of her.
She works in an area where a lot is required from the staff in terms of both availability and flexibility and this can be a difficult area to work in due to the small numbers of staff and customers.
At times we have solely relied on her to provide the care, yet hear no complaints, although she has had reason at times.
We want to ensure that Sally is fully aware of how highly we regard her as a carer and what an integral part she is of our team.
I want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you and hope she realises how valued she is. Congratulations!
When we were asking for recommendations for the Carer of the Quarter Award, the names of two other carers kept popping up and although ultimately they didn’t win the award, we felt they couldn’t go un-mentioned.
Jade Till and Nicola Hilliard are relatively new to this company but have excelled in so many ways. They have covered work and picked up as many extra shifts as they can, sometimes with advance warning and sometimes last minute.
They have also gone above and beyond what we expect from a long-standing member of staff, let alone somebody who is learning their new role.
We have heard nothing but great things about them as carers and colleagues and we are so happy they are a part of our team.
The management team at Sentinel understand that sometimes carers may not feel appreciated enough for what they do for their customers and for us as a company so we hope that in some way we can show them how appreciated they are. Thank you so much to you both.
