A new company has been launched in Telford.
Sentinel Care Services, which was formally Carewatch (Mid Shropshire and South West Staffordshire), has held a launch party to show off the new uniforms and launch the new company website.
The rebrand has now been completed following a £250,000 investment by managing director Steve Harris.
He said: “We are delighted to be able to officially launch Sentinel Care Services and serve the people of Shropshire in our new capacity.
“We decided to leave the franchise group we launched under at the end of last year and the move went through in January but it has taken two months for us to have everything in place and officially launch as Sentinel.
“We had predicted it would take three months but it has been a very smooth process and we are ahead of schedule.
“There has been an awful lot to do and we wanted to ensure our staff, customers and their families were all informed about what was going on.
“We’re now very excited with the look of our company, our staff are very smart in their new uniforms and our new website is looking great.”
Mr Harris set up Carewatch (Mid Shropshire and South West Staffordshire) 16 years ago and despite the change he will remain in his role, keep all his current staff and stay at the head office at Stafford Park, Telford.
He decided to leave the franchise in order to further develop technology in care, expand the area he serves and offer more services.
Sentinel Care Services can serve customers across Telford, Shrewsbury and across north and south Shropshire.
“Over the last year or so we have introduced paper free working for our staff with the launch of an app and we are exploring the possibility of more assistive technology for our customers,” Mr Harris said.
“Having completed our rebrand we are now looking at providing much more to our customers and change the way we work.
“Our aim is to become a proactive domiciliary care company, we will go to our customers when they need us, not for the half-an-hour or so scheduled on our timetable.”
North Shropshire areas such as Wem and Mr Harris’ home town of Whitchurch are a target. The company also covers parts of Staffordshire and Mr Harris hopes to expand into Stafford and North Cannock as well over time.
Mr Harris also runs a dedicated training company to encourage staff to gain qualifications and improve their possibility of promotions. He will be recruiting new staff frequently as his new company grows and expands.
