A new care coordinator has been appointed in our head office after following in her mother’s footsteps to go into the industry.
Former chef Molly Nock has been appointed to the role at Sentinel Care Services, based at Stafford Park.
The 21-year-old has been working as a community care support worker for seven months and said she was delighted to get a managerial role.
She said: “I am so thrilled to start this new role.
“I love care work and this is the best of both worlds, being in the office and still doing care as well.
“I also get to work in a much wider area and meet so many new people as well.
“I applied not thinking I would get the role and it will be a bit of a challenge but bring it on, I’m ready for it.
“I want to go far and do the best I can.”
Molly, from Ford Houses on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border, originally completed a catering course at City of Wolverhampton College and has previously worked as a chef at Wall Heath Tavern and the Kingfisher Club in Wall Heath.
But when she first started working in care she was continuing to be a chef as well.
She has since completed training in care work and will now begin an NVQ level 3 in health care and a business admin course.
She said: “I just like caring for people.
“Cooking and making a nice meal for someone is one way of making someone happy as well.
“They are both rewarding jobs but with care work I like going out and meeting new people in the community instead of just being in a kitchen.
“I hear the life stories of everyone I meet and it is amazing the lives they have had.
“I have learned a lot from them and have changed the way I live as a result too.”
Sentinel Care Services launched in January, a relaunch of a former established firm which changed it’s name, and has been recruiting new staff as it looks to expand the area it covers across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Staffordshire.
Director Steve Harris said he was thrilled with the latest appointment.
He said: “We advertised the job and carried out about five interviews, we were very impressed with Molly.
“She is only young but has a lot of ambition and is a very capable person.
“Her mum used to work for us and we are very thankful that she shared her passion for care work with Molly and introduced her to the opportunities available here.
“We are sure Molly will do a great job and look forward to working with her more closely from now on.”
