The team here at Sentinel Care Services are delighted to introduce the latest winner of our Star Award, Grace Oakley.
Grace only joined us in June and has been such a popular member of staff since then that she has been voted as the Sentinel Star Award winner for the last quarter of this year.
Sentinel Care Services managing director, Steve Harris, said Grace had been a big hit with customers and she was fully deserving of the award.
“Feedback from the customers detailed what a fine caregiver Grace is and we are delighted to present her with the quarterly award,” he said.
“Grace works in Kinver and Wombourne and has been with us since June. She has slotted in superbly and has proved popular with staff and clients. She typifies what we are trying to do at Sentinel in putting the needs of the people she cares for at the very top of her list of priorities.
“One female customer said Grace was part of the dream team that calls on her and always looks forward to her visits. Another comment we had was that Grace always pops in with a smile on her face.
“Customers said Grace was caring and passionate, one said she makes a customer’s breakfast perfect and is the best carer at understanding what the customer likes. Grace knows her role well and deals with situations calmly and handles pressure well.
“It is always tough making these awards because all our staff do their jobs so well and, I think, the thing that sets them apart from other walks of life is that it is more than a job, it’s a vocation and something they really enjoy doing.”
Steve added: “A major part of what we do is helping to people to live independently in their own homes rather than having to go into residential care.
“Every quarter we award the Sentinel Star to a stand-out member of staff taking customer feedback into consideration, but ultimately decided by management and their peers. Each winner will then go forward for the Sentinel Carer of the Year at the end of the year with a chance to win another trophy and a cash prize of £250.”
