The team here at Sentinel Care Services are delighted to be organising a mass horse ride-out in Staffordshire to help raise money for charity.
The event is being held in Kinver on Sunday July 2 in aid of the blood cancer charity, Bloodwise.
The charity is close to our heart, as Sentinel’s managing director, Steve Harris, has Myelodysplasia, a blood cancer known as MDS, which causes a drop in the number of healthy blood cells.
We are hoping for a good turn-out on the day to help raise as much money as possible for Bloodwise, which funds research and offers support to anyone affected by blood-related disorders.
Steve says: “The event is being organised by one of our care workers, Grace Oakley, who is a real horse enthusiast and I would like to say a big thank you to her for all of her efforts.
“It is looking like being a fantastic event with lots of riders joining us, so we are urging people to get involved and help raise a good total for Bloodwise which is a really worthwhile charity.
“As well as riders joining with their horses, we need people to volunteer as stewards, and we would like people to come along to walk the route as well.
“We are meeting in a field which will be well-signposted off Sugar Loaf Lane at 11am on Sunday July 2.
“The idea is to ride as a large group all around Kinver village, finishing back at Sugar Loaf Lane.
“Everyone will get a certificate of completion at the end of the ride and we are hoping people will come in fancy dress to add to the fun – they can also wear Bloodwise t-shirts which will be handed out on the day.”
Anyone wishing to join the ride is asked to pay a donation of £5 for over-16s and £2.50 for under-16s.
